(Week 15) Say I Love You Now

  • This week the slogan outside the church on my way home says: “Hidden in every loss and grief is a seed of new life."
  • “Just like death always comes too early, and regret often comes too late, most of the ‘I love you’ was said either too early, or too late." (死亡總是來得太早,而懊悔卻往往來得太遲,大部分的「我愛你」不是說得太早,就是太遲。─ 張小嫻)  Sometimes saying “I love you” might not be easy, but we could not afford to take the risk of saying it too late.
  • My friend told me that last time when she was feeling very sad, one of the little girls in our church came to hold her face with both hands and said to her: “I love you.”  It melted her saddened heart away.
  • To love is to be humble before the ones you love.  I’m still learning how to be humble, so that I would not give up.
  • Only when we can see what God is doing in our lives and believe in God’s promises for us, we could overcome all the disappointments and discouragements, and see the love, light and hope that we have in Him.
  • Tuesday afternoon I have learned sign language for the first time!  One of the board members of our organization came to join us for staff meeting.  After sharing Psalm 121 with us, he taught us the sign language for the chorus of a Chinese worship song.  I was amazed by the sign language of “Jesus”, which means He nailed on the cross for us.  I also like the sign language of “forever”, which is a never-ending circle, just like a ring.  One of the lines that really touched me was Forever You are with me." (你永遠與我同在)  While I was doing the sign language of this line, I felt like the everlasting presence of God is with me.  It is so perfect and beautiful.  Forever God is with us, this is the eternal hope that we can hold onto in the Kingdom of God.
  • My friend and I have just received the news that some of the people around us got connected together for some big projects.  We were amazed by and excited for what God is doing.  And we are looking forward to seeing God’s plans to be unfolded.  We praise God for all the divine connections and the coming open doors!

(Week 13) Treasure

  • It has been snowing these three days, even though spring has already come, but the weather is still like winter.
  • One of my friends came here from Hong Kong for vacation.  We spent an evening together along with other friends.  We had a really great time chatting and laughing.  We used to hang out together very often with our group of friends during our college years.  After graduation, she went back to Hong Kong.  I haven’t seen her for such a long time.  I thank God for this gathering time, and I hope I could see her again soon.
  • I miss all my old friends.
  • Friday night at our Fellowship meeting, we have got a sad news that one of the sisters in our Church family has just passed away.  We prayed together for the family, and tried to think of some practical ways to help and support them.
  • This sad news also awakes us to seize the opportunities to love and care the people around us.  Let us love someone today.
  • When I was driving home after the Fellowship meeting, I prayed that everyone that I love and care would live a long and healthy life, and be surrounded by God’s love and light always.
  • I’ve finished watching the TVB drama “The Most Beautiful 7th Day” (最美麗的第七天).  I like what it says at the end: “God created the heavens and the earth in seven days.  He put all the most beautiful things in front of men.  Therefore, whatever you have gone through, if you know how to treasure them, everything could be the most beautiful thing.” (上帝創造天地萬物,做了七天的時間。祂將最美麗的事物,都放在世人的面前。所以人生在世,無論你經歷過甚麼,只要你懂得珍惜,一切都可以是最美好的。)
  • “In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)  Put your trust in God, and never give up.

(Week 12) Spring, Purim and Easter

  • This is a very special week.  The start of Spring, Purim and Easter, all came together in these few days.  Each of these three festivals represents a time of new beginning, redemption and resurrection.  May we receive the resurrection power and triple favors as we entering into this beautiful season!
  • I’ve attended the “Holy PUSH-North” prayer meeting yesterday night.  The song that we sang at the beginning and at the end of the meeting was “Holy Moment” (by Matt Redman).  It was truly a holy moment, since God has gathered a group of intercessors to seek Him together and cry out for His people on this day of Purim and Good Friday.  It was an amazing time of worship, praying and experiencing the touch of God.
  • Thank you Lord for what He has done for us on the Cross.  “Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.  But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5)
